Finishing
POLISHED - MIRROR FINISH
Polished finish is commonly referred to as a mirror finish. Almost mirror reflective, your reflection is certainly there sharp and crisp. This finish can be compared to white precious metal reflections in which they are highly polished.
BRUSH - SATIN - MATTE FINISH
Brushed finish, Satin finish, & Matte finish are finishes of the same. These finishes are texturing techniques used on jewelry metals where a series of tiny parallel lines are scratched on the surface with a wire brush. Though these finishes differ on many different websites, Forever Metals has combined these finishes to represent a single finish with a visible directional texture that is more subdued, metallic with a less reflective look. This finish reflects light differently than the polished finish and is less bright in appearance.
SANDSTONE - BEAD BLAST FINISH
Sandstone is much like the brush / satin / matte texture, however it is much more coarse. With a mizzi wheel, a rough looking but very lustrous finish is applied. This texture feels and looks like a soft grit piece of sandpaper. It reflects light differently then any of our other polishes.
FLORENTINE - CROSS BRUSH FINISH
Florentine cross brushing is a finish with a textured surface for metals created by engraving a series of parallel lines in one direction, then cross-hatching them at a 90 degree angle more lightly than in the first direction. A Florentine finish is a crosshatched pattern, tooled into the surface of metal. The lines are often coarser and more deeply incised than that on a brushed finish.
PEENED - HAMMERED FINISH
Small peens in the finish gives the appearance like a golf ball, however the divots are much smaller in size and can't be easily felt with human touch.
